Walt's Dental Blog
As promised here is our big finale' video. I am not thrilled with the brushing part, but I still like the toothpaste. We are both more enthusiastic before we have our morning meal.
Our adventures in dental hygiene fizzled over the weekend.
There was no morning tooth paste treat for 4 days!
Deb is easily discouraged or maybe she is just lazy.
I saw a new package of tooth paste with a different style brush sitting on the toilet tank, but it remained unopened until this morning.
We liked this tooth brush much better.
Deb promises to shoot another video so you can see how well we are doing.
You might want to check out the website of the Veterinary Oral Health Council. They evaluate and give a seal of approval to products that actually help reduce tartar and plague on the teeth of dogs and cats. Our dry food - Oral Care - has a seal on the package. Now that we are big kittens with adult size teeth we get to eat this food. We like it.
Bradlee came into the bathroom to see what was going on with the tooth paste. Deb has been giving him a taste out in the kitchen. I think he likes it, but everytime me and Will get close enough to ask him he hrrumphs and runs away. Maybe he finds Will a bit pushy...
Things took a serious turn this morning. Don't worry, we set things straight. There will be no silly rubber finger cover! What's that all about anyway. Neither of us could even lick off the tooth paste and Deb could not even wash it off. Once we let her know we did not like that thing she took it off and gave us our usual swipe of tasty paste. I am glad she is easy to work with.
Will was saying this morning that he thinks Deb knows we want some tooth paste when we get up on the sink. I said "duhh" she is pretty easy to train I am sure she caught on by the third morning.
It is really weird. Now she is smearing tooth paste on all of our teeth. I still like the taste very much; the finger in my mouth - not so much. Watch this video and see what you think. Seems pretty odd to us.
We are still getting our daily taste of tooth paste. It might be my imagination, but I think Deb was getting a little clumsy she smeared the tooth paste on my front teeth. It took some serious licking to get all of it off.
We have been getting our morning taste of tooth paste for a few days now. I like getting up on the sink. Me and Will do it every morning anyway and now we have another reason to follow Deb to the bathroom - a tasty treat!
Since February is Dental Health Month we have begun a 4 week program with the goal of having our teeth brushed daily. My brother Will and I are the perfect age to form some good dental health habits (at least that's what our human Deb says ;-)
- We are young and ready to try new things
- Our adult teeth are almost fully erupted
(our baby teeth are finally gone - boy did we have stinky breath for a few days)
- We also happen to love tasty things
Early intervention can keep little problems from turning into big problems!
